Captivating and acclaimed performer looweeze de'Ath is one of Western Australia's most unique acts. looweeze performs on keys and guitar and is joined on stage by drummer Anthony Ray.
A swinging drum pattern and a minor key opens the space for looweeze's experimental live show; a dynamic blend of folk, blues and alt pop that exposes her dark and often humorous take on the world. Her songs range from political satire in "Will A Bullet Through Your Head" and pop culture appraisal in "Penelope Cruz-Homewrecking Bitch" to more improvisational eco-tunes like "In The Winter".
Her latest release, Coyote, was recorded live in a basement studio. The title track was captured as a spontaneous improvisation during the recording of the EP and encapsulates the mood of the sessions. Coyote is now hitting the airwaves on Australian radio.
looweeze has accepted invitations to perform at major folk and rock festivals across Australia including The Big Day Out, Australian Music Week, The National Folk Festival and the Woodford Folk Festival. In 2007 she has been invited to perform in festivals in North America and is an official showcase artist at the North American Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis and at Canadian Music Week in Toronto.
Her engaging performances have seen her awarded and nominated for countless West Australian Music Industry Awards including “Best Female Guitarist”, “Most Popular Acoustic Act”, “Most Popular Female Instrumentalist” and “Song of the Year”.
